Kundalika River Rapids
Ravishing, your fame knocked my doors
the irresistible call of rollicking outdoors
enticing river spirit, pulled me off office floors
to Kolad's velvety emerald, Straight on a Matador
Driving rainswept winding ways your Moor
Beckoning, your watery fingers, serpentine shores
Kundalika, wrapped in steamy misty adventures
Your torrid rapids, agate coves, I sought rapture
My tresses flying wild in virgin green nature
Meandering spirit freed, enriched in your moisture
Alluring, you stretched your sinuous curves
boarding flimsy raft with steely nerves
inscrutable mysteries, beneath milky covers
Granites and boulders, swept by gurgling veneer
Embracing your depths, raft and me, cast our cares
Exhilarating, first foray in your whitewaters
Untiring paddle, commands of 'stop' and 'farward'
Witnessing the foolhardy whipped overboard
With butterflies, crashed many a roaring tumbler
And a few fearsome ones so narrowly escaped
Frolicking frisky, belies our molten ancient
Origins from deep within Sahyadri's caverns
Untethered, dam waters sprung fire upstreams
Showering fertile abundance, kindred Sirens
Boundless you and me, exultate in our release
Thundering whirlpools, at times a sleepy fawn
Inhibitions, shyly in your lap did drown
When I soaked your sunlit elixir, a leprechaun
Culminating into your lazy folds, my woebegones
A La'affair that day I slipped into eternity sublime
