Labels Poem by Annika Ryckman

Labels

Rating: 5.0

I hate labels.
I don't believe in them
Why am I told?
What I am?
Who I am?
How to act?
Who I can be?

Obnoxious and Blonde,
You're popular.
Smart and Glasses,
You're smart.
Athletic and Fast,
You're sporty.
Why is it that I am getting told what I am?
Why is it that I am getting labeled?

Then
Who
Am
I?
Than
What
Am
I?
What
Will
I
Become?

Why is it that society thinks they can,
Determine us.
