Lack Of Love Poem by Don Nguyen

Lack Of Love

World, suffer me! Lovers, suffer me!
Heart, tear me apart; please tear me apart!
Tears, why have you stopped rolling down my cheek?
Dark angels, I notice you creeping in, bit by bit,
Disguised in lukewarmness and complacency.
Why do you only love your Lord when you needed Him?
Why did you offer Him your tender love only in those moments your wings were broken?
How can't you love Him while stepping away from your crosses?
Why do you embrace Him with both hands being emptied?
Why do you conquer the world only to fall from His grace?
You once said what good was it to gain the whole world to be in disgrace.
Is that still true or simply a cliché of the past?
Contemplate on the agony He now endure in His Heart for you’re no longer a loving lad;
But contrarily you have turned into the poor love bag with holes.
Beg your Blessed Lord to forgive you to come back to you;
Plunge fully into the ocean of anguish to restructure your heart
Into a resolute one which once loved his Beloved Lord in tears.
Now with little pains, little sufferings, no further land to conquer,
Your soul simply withers away in vast ocean of futile vain insanity
Confess your sins, implore for grace, and offer much greater love
In form of a contrite heart.
