I remember quiet water and roses
and flowers I couldn’t name
and the tall grass that hid us.
Busy bees and butterflies,
lady bugs and little trees
that must have grown from very little seeds.
I remember your bare feet
and where you put your shoes.
People in boats, oh so often passing by,
stopping briefly to wave hi.
Shimmering water, lights dancing
like throwing diamonds at the sun.
It’s days and memories like these
that serve to constantly remind me
of why it’s you I need.
