Lady Iris Poem by Shirley Harrison

Lady Iris

And as she waits patiently under damp dark ground
waiting for that one magical moment
just as the sun heats up
and an orchestra of feathered friends plays a tune for a lovely day in may
arising up slowly but surely
until she need to see that light for herself
and just like that...

she blooms in all her glory
just as an Iris should.
