Lake Poem by Behind the Shadows -

I keep recalling things, you talked about
Our talks were immature on those busy roads
Some had heard us as I was worried
But they couldn't take the charm away from your eyes

They glowed at the thought of us surviving this
The wars and the fights and the trainings of each night
Screaming so quietly it felt eerie at how we timed
In and out and everyday and every night

You were bustling and hustling with greens and greys
I was blue all over in a sunny town
Midnights saw our thirst and growls so happily
Memories so good I wrote the longest tales beyond my lives

If i had a thousand chances, I would take only one
To walk away from your shadow and your support
You hid me like a room with the coldest walls
It was the summer of my desert city

And you were the lake-city all illusionized
A mirage so fair, you fit right into this no-man-land
What made me a tragedy, I lacked that till you came
You gave me no hopes, just adventures everyday

You were the South to my road, the distress and the peace
You were the prayers that force answered
The naive lines I rewrote and memorized
In front of Her, she who was my farfetched green dream

I did not know the names, I never could be showed off
You carried me though I was the crowing glory
A jewel that every soldier, marshal carried with care
The Onyx awning of his ravaged castle

It was the winning gasp and the loudest cheer
When you answered my call and whispered a painful hello
The ache in my chest grew louder than the rains of the forest
Where she lived and you desired to lose yourself

Our love was entangled in the longings of many
The time spent were the pushpins on the boards of many
Each strike of a steeled lash creating patterns of disdain
Wishes of all to cut off this string colored in red
