Landslide Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Landslide

The hill gives way, a muddy tear,
Where houses stood, now only fear.
A sudden rush, a roaring sound,
Homes swept away, lost on the ground.

So many lives, the stories gone,
By earth unleashed, the damage done.
A tragic slide, a memory bleak,
Of homes and hopes, that hills did leak.

But 'landslide' whispers, different now,
Of votes that surge, and winners bow.
One thought prevails, a sweeping tide,
Another view, is pushed aside.

The cost is high, in fractured trust,
As futures shift, turned into dust.
This victory claimed, with joyful cries,
Yet wounds remain, behind the lies.

For slides of earth, or slides of mind,
Leave scars behind, for all mankind.
No landslide lasts, the winds will blow,
But damage done, will surely show.
