Last Fall Poem by Mark Thew Morales

Last Fall

It's spring downpour in a radiant smile
When light in your eyes still sprightly glow.
We planted seed and drenched our hearts.
Beneath this oak, our love grow

I felt your warmth like the sun rays
Embraced It like─ it'll never burn my skin.
Your love is a journey in summer days
You take me to places I've never been.

When the leaves slowly─ turning brown.
Swiftly falling─ like a heavy rain.
The caressed touch of a dying leaf,
That's when I knew our autumn came.

I fear the end in biting cold..
Until we reached a sudden edge of the line.
I since then sealed─ in a winter's curse
Our last fall has frozen in time

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It's been 9 months since my grandfather died.. It was september 2016 and I'm still miss him. He survived on a mild stroke August 2016, and he suddenly died in the morning of september. I never knew that would be our last fall and I'm still here and not moving on.
