Lavender Poem by KunJung Hsiao

Lavender

The rainy island is thirsty for no rain in a year.
A small lavender looks up her lover on the expecting rainy season.

Lavender,
who stretches her branch to the sky,
blooms her flowers on the top.
The leaves chasing the being far away flowers and yell: 'why do you chase your dream lonely? '
The flowers laugh: 'you can neither see the scene on top,
nor understand how wonderful it is! '

The flowers, who look at the distant sky,
chasing the floating clouds,
wondering if no tears of the lover to respond to their passions.
What changes the temper of their lover,
whom they never know for becomes hot or cold,
sensitive or indifferent unpredictable.

Lavender is withering because of missing.
She looks up at her lover for a drop of tear.
Even if a drop of tear
can cheer her up and keep waiting.

Lavender,
Excessive greed is a sin,
You can't just yearn for charity from others
and forget to cherish the possessions around you.
