Lavender Eternity Poem by michelle voorhees

Lavender Eternity

My thoughts are blank.
Senses that
long ago were the root of my curiosity
have slowly numbed over time.

You cannot touch me.

I spin without moving.
Lost under my lavender sky I wink at reality.
Fingers and toes tingle.
I am home.

You cannot come in.

I cannot feel the music dancing on my pale body.
Dancing to the muffled cries of my soul.
Life offers death for free.

You will not follow.

Connecting the black dots that cloud my vision
I spell my name.
A tear escapes to roll down my face
and kisses me gently on the lips.
Sanity eludes me.

You will not miss me.
