Left Behind Poem by ashok jadhav

Left Behind

You were here once, a harbor in my storm,
a hand I trusted to hold the night at bay.
But slowly, silently, you drifted away,
leaving me to face the dark alone.
No words marked your leaving, no farewell,
only the space you vacated, growing larger
each day I reached for comfort that never came,
each hope I offered, quietly denied.
Emotional abandonment is a ghost,
haunting the corners where love should have been,
teaching me that presence can vanish
without a trace, without reason, without regret.
I am left learning to soothe a heart
that was once held, now left to its own pulse,
carrying your absence like a weight
that never asks for permission to remain.
