Legatee Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Legatee

All blissful-
With a lovely
Combination
Of skin black
Bones white
Blood red
And heart flat
Broken into
Pieces countless
And the soul
Just casting
The body off.

Being
Subject-matter
Of his oral Will
First and last
In favour
Of his beloved
Sharmilee
The young man
Designated her
In love to call.

Stating Thus:
‘Wonderful!
Black-white
Red and flat
Broken down
Into bits
Along with
Mortal frame
Leaving
Behind for you
You alone
And you forever! ’
Appointing her
Thereby
His legatee.
