Lesson Poem by Moto Wamwanga

Lesson

A person who abandons
Their true friends and
Family, I beg their pardons,
Over a new person they love,

Is similar to a dead leave
Carried away by a storm, believe
Me. And when the storm ends,
Imagine what would happen,

This leave will drop and get lost.
We got eyes but it seems like we
Do not see. We got ears, most
Of the time, we cannot hear.

We always hear, see people cry
Around us but, like a butterfly
On a candelabra, we till one by one perish
By the same vain flame and vanish

Like those waters of a stream
In ocean. Is this a dream?
We see what happen to people
Around us but yet we do not

Understand and learn from
That. The person who claims to
Love and to retain you would not
Demote you from your root,
People who care about you,

Who love you and encourage
You to achieve your dream.
A tree without roots is a wall
With not foundation that can fall

Down any time. A person who loves
You would try hard to harden
Your foundation in order to emerge
You, would not cut off your

Roots to weaken you so you will
Fade and the day they leave you
The world will laugh at you like a fool
Or Christ on Golgotha hill;

The planet will be bitter
And sour for you. You better
Know that love does not impose
Conditions. Because, it is a rose

That charms. It can't either enforce
Obligations, as it is a very light
Paper in wind, led by the force

And power of impressing,
Supporting, amazing,
Charming, alluring, seducing...

The one we love in a bright
Paradise. Love is a divine gift,
An exceptional and unique lift
Bringing you to the fabulous light.
