My dear heart, why do you weep,
For the love that you could not keep?
The beloved ex-lover who shattered your soul,
Did he not teach you a lesson, make you whole?
He came to you with sweet talk and charm,
Brought your heart to life, and offered his arm.
Interesting stories and compliments galore,
But even the sweetest love fades, and it's not anymore.
His ego and narcissism, were they not cries of pain,
A mask for the love he could not contain?
Believe that his heart was pure, and his intentions were true,
For no one sets out to make someone they love suffer, that's a clue.
Let your heart find peace, and your soul be mended,
The love that you shared has not easily ended.
For even in loss, love can still grow,
And you will find love again, a new seed to sow.
