Lessons Of War Poem by Kevin Patrick

Lessons Of War

Rating: 5.0

Lets clean off the chalk boards
And brush off our memories
Raise a hand if you know
The history of Wars misery

Is a gun the price of freedom
For protecting our liberty?
Or the sensless costs of sluaghter
To earn a priceless victory

Are the coffins of soldiers
not reminders of our folly
Or they forgotten omens
For future atrocities

And do you still think God's
Cheering joyly on your side?
when hes the tone deaf referie
Who watches all the babies die

Is it wise to pick madmen
To lead the cowards crucifix
When we stand on the verge
Of a new age apocolapys

Drop the pencils and answer here
The serpent rolls the dice of fate
War teaches this simple lesson:
we learn nothing from our mistakes
