Let It Rest Poem by Mrbrian Sixtynine

Let It Rest

Rating: 5.0

We use to hold are hearts apart
But then they came together
But now they've split so far apart and we've become untethered

What we had was more than most
So come and join my final toast
To our friendships and being so close
For now I see you from a far
As that's where our memories are

But you my friend are far too nice
To be trapped in my loveless life
You deserve so much better
Than to deal with the pain under my sweater

I wish I could hold you again
But I only cause you pain
As before again I see
That you deserve so much better than me
I hope that you have found
The one who'll never let you down
So here's to you and all you do
As there will never be another you

So I shall say my final verse
And let the rest be unheard
For I could say what's in my head
But I'd rather let it rest
