Let Me Poem by Aimee Nell

Let Me

This is more of a song than a poem...
-
Let me into your troubled thoughts.
(Let me shed your tears.)
Let me soothe your aching heart.
(Let me bleed in your place.)
Let me heal your broken soul.
(Let me take your pain.)

I've seen that look in your eye.
It's like you just want to lay down and die.
But I guess that just how life goes.
I see you like no one else does.

Let me into your troubled thoughts.
(Let me shed your tears.)
Let me soothe your aching heart.
(Let me bleed in your place.)
Let me heal your broken soul.
(Let me take your pain.)

I see you standing there.
You talk without a care.
But I see behind your shield.
It hides how you really feel.

Let me into your troubled thoughts.
(Let me shed your tears.)
Let me soothe your aching heart.
(Let me bleed in your place.)
Let me heal your broken soul.
(Let me take your pain.)

Build up your building blocks, boy.
Make them strong so the world can't see through.
But leave a door,
And a lock and key.
To let me walk through.

Let me into your troubled thoughts.
(Let me shed your tears.)
Let me soothe your aching heart.
(Let me bleed in your place.)
Let me heal your broken soul.
(Let me take your pain.)

Let me into your troubled thoughts.
(Let me shed your tears.)
Let me soothe your aching heart.
(Let me bleed in your place.)
Let me heal your broken soul.
(Let me take your pain.)
-fades out-
Let me... Let me... Let me... Let me... Let me......
