Let Me Be... - Poem by Jacqueline Dougherty

Tell me why I always do this,
Tell my why I always dissmiss.

Tell my why I don't listen to what I know
and always try to go with the flow.

Why can't I live my life my way
and live my life day by day.

I want to be in control of me
and let the future be what it needs to be.

Let me decide what I want to do
and where I go and with who.

I need to breathe as the flowers do,
so let the roses be blue and the dandylions too.

Don't control my destiny
and don't control me.

I'm going to be
who I want to be!
