Let Me Go Poem by Katheryn Foley

Let Me Go

Take me away to a better place,

Where love, hope and dreams stay contained,

In a tiny box. I refuse to stay here,

Where I will shed a tear, Eyes are closed,

Feelings unfold, Truths untold,

Disappear like a ghost, Cold as stone,

A dream forlorned,

Mistakes made to create a storm.

Twisted ways, Uncharted days, you were never here.

A life untold, This world so close to falling down this hole,

Darkness surrounds and suffocates breath is hard to make,

Unwanted creatures haunt your sleep,

These nightmares are what you reap,

Paranoia in the dungeon, set me free to see my loved ones,

You have captured my body but let my soul be,

They're all waiting for me. Unlock this cage,

burn this rope holding me back just let me go.
