You wrote me a letter today
A little something just to say
What I've meant to you all along

Maybe you didn't mean it,
But the words seemed to pour out
I guess all I want is to know
That there was anything ever really there
(Not that I care)
I guess it shows neither of us knows
How to be real

I didn't know how to reply at first
I stared at blank paper for hours
But I finally have some words
And they seem sufficient,
I suppose this will have to do -
