Let's Rally Around Nkrumah - Poem by Kwasi Boaten

These people
We rely on
Are these same people
Who wring our neck.
They squeeze us
So tight
When we cough
They give water
But never stops.

So let's rally around him
Rally around him
Rally around him
Let's rally around Nkrumah
And shine!

They never
Understand I say
Our many problems
No they don't.
We have to
Sit up now
We are the ones
Who know our problems
Very well.

So let's rally around him
Rally around him
Rally around him
Let's rally around Nkrumah
And shine!

Our land
Is so rich in all
So what is it
That makes us poor?
It's the way we do things,
It is like
Using a stone
Of cushion to
Crack a hard nut.

So let's rally around him
Rally around him
Rally around him
Let's rally around Nkrumah
And shine!
