Let The Gods Speak Poem by David Oladipupo Olorunshola

Let The Gods Speak

Let the gods speak
In this matter
It has gone long enough
I don’t know what
We can do again

We have transverse,
Several villages and towns
In search of solutions
We have visited many oracles
Yet, the gods refuse
To speak to us.

What is our wrong?
And whom have we wronged
That we have been rejected
By the gods,
For these several moons

Who can understand?
The language of the gods
Who will be our interpreter?
To interpret for us
Where is the sage

Day and night
We have wept
Waiting and listening
To hear the voice
Of the gods, to tell us
What more to be done

But the gods refuses
To speak, but here we are
We have pleaded,
And begged the gods to speak
He remains silent, and silent
But will not be persuaded

We speak no more
And to remain silent
Before the gods.
