Let The Little Children Come To Me Poem by Michael Walker

Let The Little Children Come To Me

Rating: 5.0

Let the little children come to me.
They are sent forth like sheep amidst the wolves.
Their angels my Father in Heaven see,
While here on Earth they're chased by Satan's hooves.

Heaven is made up of such as these.
Lest you become like to a little child,
You shall not enter into Heaven's seas.
My hand is turned against the man gone wild.

Brood of vipers! O, ye den of thieves!
A millstone should be hung around your neck
And cast into the sea, for my Heart grieves
To see the little ones whose lives you wreck!

You hypocrites are whitened sepulchres!
Anise, cumin, and mint hide filth within.
You Pharisees care for lust and luchre!
How will Satan's sons flee Hell for sin?

The deeds of darkness will be brought to light,
For I will judge the living and the dead;
To purify the body, clean the sight,
And heed all of the words that I have said.

Only the pure of heart behold my face,
Yet Judas with a kiss spurns my embrace.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

You have penned a very poignant and necessary poem Luc.. I am not one bit a fan of organised religion and as I told you I look at scriptures as myths... But even by that standards, if my understanding is correct, no true worshipper of God can abuse anyone, let alone children.. What is often done in intstitutionalised, organised religion is so contrary to the very basic concepts of humanism and spirituality, that it becomes often too difficult, if not entirely impossible to consider these very representatives of Religions as anti-religious, , .. Thank you for sharing Luc.
