Let The Sun Shine In - Poem by Leroy Ayers

THE WILTED ROSE LOOKED SO BARE,
WITH PETALS MISSING HERE AND THERE;
SO SMALL IN SIZE, IT WASN'T FAIR,
AN OBVIOUS LACK OF LOVING CARE.

BUT JUST ACROSS THAT THORNY BUSH
ON ANOTHER LIMB SO GREAT IN SIZE;
TOWERED A BEAUTIFUL ROSE SO UNIQUE,
ONE THAT COULD WIN ANY PRIZE.

AGAIN I THOUGHT, "IT ISN'T FAIR",
WHERE COULD THE GARDNER BE?"
THEN THE ANSWER CAME TO ME.
IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE SHADE OF A GIANT TREE.

BUT I KNOW MY GOD IS ALWAYS FAIR,
WITH SUNSHINE FOR YOU AND ME;
AND I WILL NEVER HAVE TO WORRY,
FOR IT WILL NEVER BE BLOCKED BY A TREE.

SO IF YOUR DAY STARTS OUT ALL WRONG,
REMEMBER, GOD LOVES YOU TOO.
HE'S GOING TO LET THE SUNSHINE IN,
THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO.
