Let There Be Darkness Poem by steven michael pena the black winged angel

Let There Be Darkness

Ashes fall from burning skies
As blood rains down from red clouds up high
A beating heart soon is crushed
And now you fall into the dust
Now as you lie in hope for him
He flies away on broken wings
But yet I stay to watch you cry
As he attempts to say goodbye
And my black cold unbeating heart
Rejoices now as you both part
Now you will turn to look at me
To save you from your misery
But never again ill be a fool for you
As your nightmares have now become true
I leave your side to fly to a place
That’s far from your stupid wretched grace
And as I leave I take the light
And turn this day into a night
I leave you now so cold and heartless
To fall into eternal darkness
And now you’ll know just how I felt
That day that you chose just to forget
Just how much my heart longed for thee
When you pierced it with your treachery
And this angel that you threw aside
Has found a different way to rise
From the ashes and to reach
Into your chest so easily
And rip away this heart of yours
And leave you with demonic hordes
To fend for yourself or die alone
To seat himself on a throne of thorns
And take his seat at the left and become the shining knight of death
And again we meet when you now fall
And yet you have such nerve such gall
To call me as one of your own
A more foolish act than drawing blood from a stone
But I will take you where you deserve to be
Because for you I will have no more pity
Now fall and watch this shining knight
Take his majestic royal flight
And off he goes just as you fall
Hearing your arrogant regretful call
Goodbye my love, are his last words you’ll ever hear
For by him you’ll never again be near
But you’ll be received by a splendid king
That thanks you for just everything
For you made fall loves last hope
And all others now slide down your slippery slope
Of lies and treachery misguided so
And every other darkness you’ll ever know
And this ends everything so cold and heartless
As they let there be eternal darkness
