My Shining Light Poem by steven michael pena the black winged angel

My Shining Light

I look at you and I’m amazed
At your elegance and your grace
At how you walk and what you wear
My heart skips beats when you are near
Your hair so soft and smells so sweet
It makes the demons all retreat
Hopes of seeing you pass by me
Make me quiver at my knees
The smile that makes the world turn right
Is as beautiful as the full moons light
And this heart that beats for you this night
Will shine as bright as the daylight
This starless night ill wait for you
To meet my love with your love anew
And then as we both now intertwine
Your love and heart now becomes mine
The hand of fate that breaks our bonds
Will break my heart now that you’re gone
But I will wait for your return
And sit by the fires and watch it burn
This warmth is nothing compared to yours
I now feel cold and close the doors
And peer through the glass bars of my cage
To see our past, a violent rage
It puts me through this tempered state
To loose you now in this dark place
And you my precious shining light
Has brought this heart aglow tonight
For you I’d gladly go tonight
Into the depths of darkest night
For having you right by my side
Into this darkness I bravely stride
For fear cant hold back what’s inside
As we rise up, take flight tonight
To the fields of Elysium
Our new, glorious kingdom
Where love knows no limit
And life has meaning because you’re in it
So my glorious shining light
Cupids’ arrow has struck me tonight
And all I can do is sit and think
Oh how all fears now begin to shrink
My love for you is like the snow
Plainly beautiful and simply so
Easy to read and not too complex
An oddly irregular sensational jest
This heart that beats is just for you
So I give to you true love anew
