Lets Elope! Poem by ahlaam shah

Hey I have an idea
its crazy but lets elope

pack your things
on first available flight we hop

shed off the bruises given by life
close to nature is the best way to cope

lay under the starry skies
and look at the milky way through telescope

wake up with flowers on bed
and poetry filled envelope

listen to symphonies and songs
in long baths with candles, Epsom salt and lavender soap

build swings on trees
roll down the meadow slope

share some jokes with the giggling kids passing by
or maybe play and skip some rope

breathe in the pure air
dance in the floating clouds on the mountain top

sit in the woods quietly and scope
for birds, goats, deer or an antelope

not think about the world we leave behind
not even the responsibilities NOPE!

we can start fresh after getting back
but with lots of memories and good energy I HOPE!
