Lets Make It Be Poem by Kevin Patrick

Lets Make It Be

Rating: 5.0

Take off your makeup, and step onto the crosswalk
Shout out your summer inside
Be bold and gleam through the grey crowd pollution
Times today cannot let sadness abide
Over there's a girl who hangs on a tightrope line
Just so she can get a thousand likes
and here's the church of Y that prey for fame
Watching elephants stepping over mice
So if you refuse to stand up
no one will help you when you fall
We can share the fire, if you're nice
but if you're not, we'll turn to ice

It may seem scary, when the board gets more varied
But you learn to how win as you
Sometimes you're sad and others you're triumphant
It depends on the song your tuned
For there are crowds of clowns that Draw thin lines
On which side is always right
And a million fashion judges who would wear you out
When their to lame to tie you down
At your best you're just tourists
then you will reap the same respect
For if your kind we'll share the acorns
But if you're not you'll leave me thorns

Yet now is the only life we have worth living
and I bare each moment with a grin
For whatever laments and woes, must be sand and trimmed
Cause there's no point being sad or grim
And I open every door, for the world to explore
As how will I learn if I never let go
For the only thing I know to be true
Is that death will come knocking around soon
Some can spend the time with worries over little questions
Or resign yourself to knowing with proud acceptance
As all the answers are just mysteries above
And the only thing you have in time is love
And the only thing time gives is to live
So live.

So, you're going to make me turn my brain on, are you? Okay, I'll kick start the sluggish thing and see if I can be 1/2 as intelligent as you... well, I'll settle for 1/16 th. Reading it through the second time was a good idea- the words are astonishingly powerful when the brain is awake. Take off your makeup, and step onto the crosswalk Shout out your summer inside Be bold and gleam through the grey crowd pollution - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -You have a vivid way to get your point across. Take off your makeup- take off your mask. Step onto the crosswalk- -step into life on the other side of your experience. Shout out your summer inside- - let people see your naked self blemishes and strengths together- let your light shine through the grey mediocrity of the average, the medium. And so it goes, the gems are right in front of us It is up to us to read and uncover layer after layer of its truth and. while the truth you present is firm and has an edge- it still is more the loving admonition of a father or a friend than anything else.. So if you refuse to stand up no one will help you when you fall We can share the fire, if you're nice but if you're not, we'll turn to ice - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Writing just doesn't get better than this. A million trillion tens and a place on my Fav list.
