I'm sorry for not loving you,
not giving you the time of day.
When you needed me the most,
I'm sorry I treated you that way.
You carried me all these years
when all I did was complain.
How you just weren't good enough,
sickened by my disdain.
I pushed you to the bottom,
kicked you when you were down.
Never truly listened,
never stuck around.
Layered up the plasters,
when the wounds began to weep.
Buried you with guilt,
a victim of my deceit.
Now, I hear you knocking,
I've truly felt your pain.
I vow with all my heart,
I'll never hurt you again.
From this day I promise,
I'll treat you like a Queen.
Love every flaw and Imperfection,
you will be heard and finally seen.
