Letting Go Poem by Summer Sandercox

Letting Go

When tomorrow fails to show her face, when the light has all but gone,
Remember me with happiness, with laughter and with song.
Be sure to lead the dance for me, let not one tear be shed
I simply ask that you celebrate, the life that I have lead.

Mourn me not forever, for you shouldn't have the time
To contemplate my passing, when you're the next in line.
Life is for the living when all is said and done,
Mourn me for a moment, then swiftly move along.

Look forward to tomorrow, to the break of each new day
Fill each with thoughts of happiness, let not sorrow bar your way.
Make much of all the earthly gifts whilst you still have the time,
Rise up and make the most of it, as I have done with mine.

And when the time draws closer, your mortal coil to cast aside,
You can do so in the knowledge that you lived a life sublime.
A life that's full of memories, of sunshine and of Grace,
when the light has all but gone, when tomorrow fails to show her face
