Letting Go



No Longer will I hold back
and allow a man control.
I accept no blame, no fault or attack,
no longer living in a fishbowl.

I'm letting go the past assaults and rape
and with it goes "Two Faces Have I".
No longer needing an excuse to escape;
nor another reason to cry.

For I am me and me I will be
a woman in control of her life.
Living in the present for this I decree
Looking forward to the future with no strife.

My heart filled with glad song
as I sing and dance and laugh.
As my cats watch and know they belong
Knowing I'm letting go on my behalf.
