Letting Her Go Poem by Praweel Sindhuliya

Letting Her Go

It's been long I have been living a dream
Where you love life for however it has been
Grinning for no cause, walking as if it's always raining
And you love the rain, or the cold, or everything
But dream got to be a dream so I woke up eventually
To find its actually raining and I despise of it
It reminds me of my vealy heart then
Hard to believe that it's happening again
I mutter in tears for good things have end
Oh bingo, my eyes are what that rain

Every guy is a hero of his story
It's time maybe I should be mine
Seeing her smile in other's name
I learned to smile while saying I'm fine
Maybe a pure heart is not enough
Or my heart wasn't pure enough
For a reason it's love it couldn't show
It nearly wept while letting her go

And in between my lies and patience
Sleeps the secrecy of my faults
Came and conquered, never left
Rules the stinking kingdom of theft
Then she came, made it worthwhile
Taught me to love, made my heart juvenile
Now I can see her breathing but can't feel her
She is walking away and I can't ask her to wait
She has got a next stop, maybe another mate
I freeze, can't breathe, being in dire straits

Every guy is a hero of his story
It's time maybe I should be mine
Seeing her smile in other's name
I learned to smile while saying I'm fine
Maybe a pure heart is not enough
Or my heart wasn't pure enough
For a reason it's love it couldn't show
It nearly wept while letting her go

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My best friend, she is a girl. I didn't realize I had feelings for her until one day she told me she has liked a guy, going to propose him soon and I had to help her through all this. During that situation, I couldn't show her my feelings, and it was hard to bear seeing her smile in other's name. So, i created this poem just to let out my feelings.
