Lie Me Brightly Poem by Frankie Renae

Lie Me Brightly

I know it's not close to perfect
There are right words we don't share
The end of the day, I don't forget you are there
And I see
I know you're trying, but I've been crying
Just make somethin' up for me

Chorus:
Somewhere in your voice
Between the amplitudes
I loose the choice that gives this attitude
I look so mad when I'm tearin' my heart inside
You stay back, afraid of my eyes
It's true you prob'ly can't be right right now
Just make somethin' up for me
Baby, somehow, lie me brightly

I pull down the shades in my words
To you; You haven't got a clue
It's written all over this place; how can't you taste
The right words
What I need from you, but I don't need them
I don't need right words at all

Chorus

Lie me brightly; create your light
Lie me brightly, hands in mine
I'm sure you think you need so much; what else could push
This a way
I know you're sighing; I've been trying
Just be somethin' loud for me

Chorus

Make a smile all rightly
