Acoustic - Poem by Frankie Renae

blaring soft spoken acoustic
one bit of uncalled honesty after another
and I imagine you
in all the overused words I use
failing desperately to bring you
into any sort of focus as you are to me
blurring the specks of your
eyes with love, trailing your skin with love

chorus:
and where are you beneath the love
standing outside, from all the room, my love
takes up
and it's true I don't see you for what you are
your eyes are green, you smile of beauty
feeling your heart pound each night
and I know
that's who you really are

falling asleep to your soft breath
as if breath could be any other way, but I see
traces of a soul real
with unspoken things from crowded out
being late just for the back pew
smooth finger tracks on the keyboard strokes that love you back
blurring the specks of your
eyes with tears, trailing compassion here

chorus

and there are you outlined in love
stand acoustic, from all the room, my love
takes up
and it's true you smile me for what you are
your eyes are green, you sight of beauty
knowing your heart beat each night
I feel it
that's who we really are
