Lies Poem by Nina Bej

Lies

Rating: 5.0

Cloudy skies
That turn back time
Lovers' hearts
That intertwine
Searching for
A better way
As a fire
Burns away
Smoke swirls swift
About their lungs
Blurring vision,
Choking tongue
As they look for words to say
'Our passion changed today.'
Only embers of
This flame
Beseech both
To live unchanged
But lovers split,
Their paths diverge
As both fumble for
Some courage
Roses red and sunlit skies
Turn to dark and puzzling lies
