Lies. Poem by Brianna Richard

Lies.

There is this idea, a secret, that we can be whoever
We would like.
Strive, focus, study- that’s all it takes.
I say, it’s all a lie.
Everywhere we turn we see the
Truth.
Families struggle and minorities whimper
To say “what about us? ”
Lies we feed them, and on they buy
Into a world of mass corruption.
