Lies Poem by Donna Leftwich

Lies

Rating: 5.0

Lies he tells of things unseen,
Why do I believe the dream?
Is truth too hard to portray,
Words just getting in the way.
Search the soul, it speaks to you,
Find within some deeper hue.
Words you hear can mean two things,
Why is pain the end they bring?
Beat your head against the wall,
Cry all night until you fall.
Lies that cut you to the bone,
Until you feel all alone.
Truth won't change or ever die,
Why does he proceed to lie?
