Life - Poem by Valentine Bagirimvano

Life is a gift given to you
Even though you may not think so.
I used to read terrible life stories
And think, thank God I have a perfect life,
Great family, friends and over all-
A perfect life.
But life isn't so great when you mess up
Sometimes I wish I could turn back time,
Fix all my screw ups
Why did it all change?
Why for the worst?

Life is a gift given to you
A burdensome gift, but a gift nonetheless
Sometimes I remember the life I had
And I just weep when I look at it now
And I ask God why He bothered to give life to me

My not so great family
And deceitful friends.
Sometimes I think I should just stop and change
But when I do I mess up even more
Then I wonder why it all changed for the worst

Maybe my terrible life story will be read someday
And make you think about your story
Will you wake one day and have it all change for the worst?
Will you change it before someone ends up
Reading your terrible story?

Or will you run from Life?
Will you throw that gift away?
Or will you make the best of it?
Think Fast! !
