Life Poem by Nevaeh Young

Life

Departure

Like a butterfly from its cocoon
You metamorphisized.
Cool air ruffled
Your wings of independence.

A sense of adventure
Your yearning to take on the world,
Like a seed dancing in the wind
Seeking opportunities to blossom.

Drifting-
Wondering about your destination.
The path to your dreams
Transparent yet opaque.

Leaving the station.
Traveling the distance.

Like a scarred warrior
Wounded but proud,
The clarity of your purpose
Reveals the direction of the quest.

Seasoned by time,
You journey,
Like a tattered classic
Cherished and treasured.

Shhh….
Dusk ripens to sunset.
The curtain closes;
You take your bows to glorious applause.

Left the station.
Traveled the distance.

Arrival.
