This thin veil
between life and death

is lifted at times revealing
a surreal emotional experience.

Sometimes better left in our
memory to fade over time,

a memory that will allow us
to rationalize and understand while

leaving the sadness in the shadows and
bringing the pleasant memories forward.

To allow us to go on living our lives
while others may not.

Sometimes it works for people.
Sometimes it does not.

This thin veil
between life and death.
