Life Goes On Poem by Jerry Akporhor

Life Goes On

Like the flowing river, life goes on,
Moving forward, from dusk till dawn.
It cares not for those who come or go,
For time waits for no one, this we know.

We often think we're vital, essential,
That without us, life would be less successful.
But in truth, we are merely a fleeting presence,
A tiny part of life's grand essence.

We may hold positions of power and might,
But they are not permanent, nor our birthright.
For someone else will step up to the plate,
And life will go on, at the same steady rate.

So don't let your ego get in the way,
And don't think that you're irreplaceable, come what may.
Take a step back and let others shine,
For life will go on, with or without you, just fine.

Remember, we are all but a small piece,
Of life's never-ending puzzle, which will never cease.
So cherish the time you have, and make it count,
For life is fleeting, and it won't wait around.

Life will go on, as though you never existed,
And it will continue, with or without your assistance,
So make your mark and leave a legacy,
Something that will stand the test of eternity.

But don't get too caught up in your own importance,
For life is vast, and we are but a minuscule fragment,
Take pleasure in the simple things, the things that matter,
For in the end, it's love and connection that make us richer.

So live your life to the fullest, and with purpose,
Treat others with kindness, and be of service,
For life will go on, whether we're here or not,
But the memories we leave behind, will never be forgot.

In the grand scheme of things, we are just a tiny dot,
But we can make a difference, in our own unique spot,
So cherish every moment, and make them count,
For life is fleeting, and it won't wait around.

Life will go on, with or without us,
But we can make a positive impact, that's just,
Live with passion, and love with all your heart,
For that's how you leave a legacy, that sets you apart.
