Life Is Like This… Poem by Dr John Celes

Life Is Like This…

Most people run in life as if
They are one from a Zebra horde,
That does most things so much alike –
And turn to watch their comrade caught
By lions, tearing it apart –
Helplessly, to just walk away!

Not all amongst a group are bright;
But most for better slots do fight;
Not all work hard past ev’n mid-night,
Yet, most want over-night lime-light!
Not all can reach the other’s height,
But cut the thread of next man’s kite!

When others do a clumsy act,
We ridicule them without tact,
By making fun, over-react;
Without knowing the basic fact –
That doing risky things with skill
Comes with much training, and could kill!

Some sacrifice their life at work;
Some work for sake of doing it;
Some act as if they have given
Their every breath for their work-place –
Retirement will soon decide
The ones who didn’t in God abide!
