Life Of A Tree Poem by Denise Headley

Life Of A Tree

The most beautiful tree stands
there all full and grown.
One leaf, that's all that's fallen.
A new baby girl is born.
She learns her first word.
Another leaf has fallen.

She now walks step by step
Leaves continue to fall.
She goes to pre-school,
One by one the leaves fall.
The more the girl accomplishes
The more leaves fall to the ground.

Now she's old, she is bold.
She has a husband, a son, a daughter, and she takes care of her mom now.
The tree has ten leaves left......
It starts to look old, pale, and dried out.
There is only a few more leaves left.
And the clock of her life is ticking.

One more leaf left. And the old lady is tired.
She gets in her bed lays her head on her soft pillow on it. As she closes her eyes the last leaf falls.

She says, ' Its time for me to go'
And before she knows it, the leaf falls onto the ground and gets swept away by the wind.

The tree is not dead, but it regrows into another beautiful life.
