Life is a serious affair
A journey testing souls
Where love and hate rules everywhere
To guide or hide one's goals

Regardless what life confuses
Causes one's soul to stray
Beware caresses and bruises
Can distract from Heaven's Way

However strong, rich or clever
Whole hearted seek the Lord
Beware what rises to sever
Salvation's binding chord

The devil's hardly a stranger
More cunning than a snake
Inattentive of danger
Could be one's last mistake

Pray Jesus' hand holds fast to yours
With eyes, always aware
Opening, closing diverse doors
Where oft may be a snare

Many have fallen, countless die
Believing safe to be
If wisdom's come and not past by
Pray Jesus' help to see

Hell's seductive traps to capture
Both young and old in turn
Souls, deterring from the rapture
With devils, endless burn

No, life's not simple not at all
Be wary what you do
Before you fail, before a fall
Let Christ accompany you.....
