Life Support Poem by Maddy Jones

Life Support

They traveled abroad,
Mistakes were made,
Stuck in the snow,
Becoming afraid,

Time had passed,
The food was gone,
Desperate & crazed,
Survival was on,

Some were alive,
But most had died,
Aching for food,
The dead nearby,

Their only choice,
Their last resort,
To eat the dead,
For life support,

Eating so fresh,
A meal so hearty,
Tasting the flesh,
The Donner Party.
