Life To Live, Just Not Thus! Poem by Priyadarsini G Menon

Life To Live, Just Not Thus!

Try not a friendship, for gain sole
Lend not to foes nor friends,
Forgetfulness feeds foes, forgoes friends
Pray not for wealth nay beauty
Obsess not with riches n fame, silky skin, smooth mane,
Lock not your gaze on dazzlers, sights beckon, yonder afar
Shut not the setting skies, blushing red at brazen days
Nay the genteel morning skies, sweet hues tantalizing
Blink not a sec, lest you miss the dipping kingfisher blue
Plot not to capture a free soul
Seek not to conquer, we are a free-spirited lot
Mine not land n water, silver sands form not from mortar
Keep nor cage pets, they have lives to live, free
Stir not an emotional cauldron, if you know not the outcome
Run not from responsibilities, rewards flee, reprisals follow
Jog not on trodden paths, smoother run, slippery fall
Walk not paved roads, harder stride, fitter self
Life to live, from a chance to be born
To be born, a chance in millions
To be human, one in billions
To be human with choices, one in a zillion chance
Mess not your life, another not in the cards
Life in your palms, juggle, cuddle or muddle at will.
