Lifeless Living Poem by Daniel McLaughlin

Lifeless Living

Rating: 5.0

An early morning start to a day that
Seems so congruent to the rest. A day that
reminds you exactly of the day before.
Takings trains and walking as one to jobs
That average people UN willingly look
forward to. A daily routine whereas
The only thing that changes is the date
and the weather. The monotony of
walking in tight packs to and from work
Disintegrates ones soul. Like rust forming
on the very train tracks we use each day.
Going home, knowing you have made some cash
for the kin is the only real
Satisfaction you can steal from these days
that give nothin but upmost boredom. We
seem not to worry about this boredom.
As it seems we strive to do the same, to
be the same as one another. The lack
of individuality feeds the
Conformity of the situation.
So we all walk as one through the never
ending dulness at 5pm, back to the trains where we
ride back home to rest, and ready ourselves
for the day that gives a mirror image of
the scene at Collins street at 5pm
