Lifeless Romance Poem by Gloraly Gomez

Lifeless Romance

</>You pierced my heart
With a knife through my chest
I'm bleeding the love I had
But it's for the best
Yet slowly I'm turning
And transforming
Into a lifeless, nonperforming
Victim of hate
Every sudden move I make
Makes me feel so paralyzed
The parasites inside me
Make the pain subside
Then after awhile I begin to feel
The numbness of death overwhelming me
Now there's nothing else left
There's no light and no feeling
And my sight's not appealing
I just feel like I'm floating
I'm helpless and scared
I was so unprepared
For this solitary loneliness
Nothing I've dealt with before
Comes close to this experience
When you die and you pass
There is nothing but silence
So take into consideration
Living life to the fullest
Because when your time comes
You'd have wanted the bestest
And then finally I awake
With a sudden gasp for air
And I realize that I
Had been sleeping in my chair
But I feel like I have
Been given a second chance
So I'll make everything right
Including this lifeless romance...
