Lifelong Existence Poem by Edward A. Morris

Lifelong Existence

I don't claim my insight's prodigious.
I've never performed noble deeds.
I'm not in the least bit religious.
I have all the usual needs.
Still, I have discovered the portal
To freedom from worry and strife:
It's realizing I am immortal—
I mean, for the rest of my life.
