Lifted Poem by Franklyn Aubrey Mbale

Lifted

Rating: 5.0

It's the waves some days that take you down
Some days it's the little voice saying
When you're under you look up
It's the strings that drive you some days
Some days it's the hope that you just might
A force stronger than death
And you don't know how much you have
Until you have no more of it to give
Some days you're pulled down by gravity
And mostly a tender hand that lifts you back up
And you, having been pulled up
The feeling of having been pulled up
Becomes the gift you want to share
So the one you share it to might share it too
Some days it's the fear the one you're trying to pull
Might not be able to reach the hand being offered
That makes you go deep- and deeper still
Until you're one with the waves
And you've started needing rescue too
It's the waves some days that take you down
Some days it's the love you've seen
That you want to show a drowning soul
